Klein Karoo Seed Group

The Klein Karoo Seed Group is a South African based seed holding company with the Head Office in Oudtshoorn in the Southern Cape.  The main activities of the Klein Karoo Seed Group include Seed Production and Seed Marketing.  These activities are practiced by separate and independent companies in South Africa, Africa, Europe and the United States.  The Klein Karoo Seed Group follows the small business unit model where each company is a separate and independent business unit.

The vision of the Seed Group is to produce, supply and distribute seed of the highest quality to seed companies and end user’s all over the world

The Group consists of the following individual business units.  Klein Karoo Seed Production, Gellman Seeds, K2 Agri Seed, Spoedwel, Bakker Brothers and K2 Seed Growers.

Klein Karoo Seed Production

Klein Karoo Seed Production (KKSP) is a specialized seed production company situated in the Klein Karoo in the Western Cape.  They specialize in contract production of a wide range of vegetable seeds, forage and pasture seeds and agronomy seeds for Seed Companies all over the world.  KKSP is not involved in any breeding activities or distribution of seed and is strictly involved with seed production.

Afrigro

Gellman Seeds is a vegetable seed distribution company based in Oudtshoorn in the Southern parts of South Africa.  They are involved in the distribution of a wide range of OP and hybrid vegetable seeds in South Africa, Africa, the Middle East and South East Asia.  They focus on wholesale and also pre-packed seed under the brand name Afrigro and other recognized brands.

K2 Agri Seed

K2 Agri Seed is a forage, pasture and agronomy seed distribution company based in Potchefstroom in the North West Province.  They specialize in the distribution of oats, barley, rye, Lucerne seed, grasses, forage sorghums, sunflower, maize and canola in South Africa and Africa.

Spoedwel

Spoedwel is a franchise distributor of Mayford Sakata based in Brits in the North West Province in South Africa.  They specialize in the distribution of Sakata hybrid vegetable seeds, agricultural chemicals, fertilizer and associated products.

Bakker Brothers

Bakker Brothers is a vegetable distribution company based in Holland.  They have been involved in the distribution of vegetable seed since 1927 and they are distributing seed in more than 64 countries around the world.  They specialize in the distribution of beans and a full range of OP and hybrid vegetable seeds under there own brands.
